Head - Business Development 1 Position

Job Title: Head - Business Development
Grade: Deputy General Manager
Reporting to: Managing Director
Reportees: Business Coordinators & Front Office Staff
Location: Bengaluru
Experience: 10 -15 years’ relevant experience in managing a team with budgetary / P&L responsibilities.
Educ. Qualification: Post graduate, preferably with MBA or Marketing diploma.
Age: Around 40 years
Job Objective: To independently manage and grow the Company’s business by guiding and managing the Marketing team

Job Responsibilities:
The individual will be responsible to head the business development activities for all the WTCs mentioned above. He / She will be responsible for setting the Division’s Business strategy for the Board and Management’s approval and also budgetary responsibility for the Division’s P&L through the following broad activities:
1) Trade information (country/ corporate profiles, trade flow data, trade regulations and guidelines)
2) Trade Education (Technical and Non-technical) programs designed to foster trade and upgrade skills, through conducting Seminars and Workshops.
3) Trade facilitation:
a. Managing Trade delegations, both inbound and outbound Trade delegations.
b. Renting out of Incubation rooms, Seminar halls, Board rooms and Discussion Rooms
c. Providing Secretarial, Translation, Logistics services etc
4) Product development: Developing new Products for enlarging the Division’s service offering and building new revenue streams
5) Establishing, maintain business relationships with members of the target community, such as Government, Trade Associations, Foreign Embassies and Consulates, Educational institutions, SMEs and other domestic and international WTCs
6) Driving a strong Branding & Communications strategy through print and digital media.

Skill sets required:
a) Personality traits
- Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Team management skills
- Strong Networking skills. The incumbent would need to actively network with, Government agencies,
Bilateral and international trade bodies, Trade Associations, Foreign Trade consulates abroad, Other
WTCs worldwide
- Good Organizing skills for managing and guiding Seminars, Marquee events and other events normally
conducted by the company
- Commercial orientation (ability to commercialize intellectual activities)

b) Technical skills:
- Feel for economic data (numbers and trend analysis), broad understanding of Government's
economic policies, particularly relating to foreign trade
- Knowledge of sources for collating economic data
- Organizing educational programs using internal / outsourced faculty
- Identifying relevant training course content and designing relevant programs
- Ability for spotting trade opportunities that are relevant to the local business community and international trading partner countries
- Broad understanding of web design/ formats (not necessarily technical aspects) and print and digital media
