World Trade Center in association with Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs conducted an online session on WFH Guidelines. Ms. Rajitha Boorugu, Partner – Indirect Tax, BDO India LLP was the speaker.

Ms Boorugu gave an overview of the WFH policy that was introduced in 2016, which gained more relevance in the course of the pandemic. She explained the new 43A Rule which gave IT/ITeS companies to let 100% of their employees to work from home till Dec 31 2023. She listed the action points, compliance requirements and communications required to various departments for the units. She also pointed out a few open issues and challenges related to the new amendment, for which further clarifications are awaited. The present status of the DESH bill was also touched upon by Ms. Boorugu.

Mr. Vivek George, Sr. Manager, WTC moderated the session. Mr. K.K. Pillai, Regional Chairman, EPCES, Kochi gave the opening remarks. Mr. C.U. Poovaiah, Regional Director, EPCES, Bengaluru also spoke.
