We organized an online session on “Global Outlook on Data Privacy for SMEs”. Mr. Sukiraman Manivannan, Privacy, Risk and Security Expert was the Speaker. Mr. Manivannan in his speech said that with GDPR and similar data privacy bills being introduced in Europe and countries like Canada, Australia, other countries are also following suit. Indian government is also trying to achieve the same. He added that data privacy compliance has its own technical, legal and organizational aspects. He gave a brief on previous data privacy practices like FIPS, OECD, 'Privacy by Design' etc. SMEs must understand the common privacy practices and demonstrate its commitment to those practices while building product vision, building roadmaps, strategies etc. In order to build product for global users, SMEs must strategize, plan and establish a privacy operations team. 

The session was also an opportunity for participants to clear their queries with the speaker. Dr. Bose K. Nair, Vice President, WTC and Mr. Vivek George, Manager, WTC Kochi and Chennai also spoke.
