World Trade Center Bengaluru, in association with a panel of speakers from Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan organised a one-day interactive seminar on “Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code: Emerging Contours” at World Trade Center Bengaluru on 6th July 2018.

An accurate insolvency code is very important for an emerging economy like India as insolvency issues are critical in the globalization of financial and capital markets.  An effective insolvency code has a direct bearing on the determination of ease of doing the business of a country by the World Bank. The main itinerary of this seminar was to learn and understand about the insolvency and bankruptcy codes which included discussion of laws related to: reorganisation and insolvency of corporate persons, partnership firms and individuals in a time bound manner, maximisation of value assets, promotion of entrepreneurship and availability of credit, balancing the interest of stakeholders related to order of priority of payment of Government dues etc.
