The Foreign Trade Policy (FTP)

The Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) was introduced by the Government of India to grow the Indian export of goods and services, generating employment and increasing value addition in the country. The Government, through the implementation of this policy, seeks to develop the manufacturing and service sectors. FTP primarily focuses on adopting a twin strategy of promoting traditional and sunrise sectors of exports including services. Further, it intends to simplify the process of doing business globally.  Through this policy the Government of India is striving to make India a significant partner in global trade by 2020.

World Trade Center Bengaluru in association with Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) and Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), organised an interactive session on 6th December 2018  with Mr. J.V Patil, Additional Directorate General of Foreign Trade, MOC, Government of India, Mr. Siddartha Bhatt S, Joint Partner, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan also shared their views and challenges on the policy. Senior Advocate of High Court of Karnataka, Mr. Shivadass mentored the open house session. Around 100 exporters from across the city actively participated in the session. The event was supported by Edelweiss.
